Listen, Speak, Lead
Listening Deeply, Speaking Clearly & Leading Safely - Nursing & Clinician Culture Setting
Available spots
Service Description
A program beyond the one day. Nursing and Midwifery executives sit at the fault line between bedside reality and boardroom accountability. Every day you are asked to hold risk, absorb distress, confront behaviour, and still inspire hope. The conversations you lead – with nurse and midwifery managers, with medical colleagues, with unions, with communities – quietly shape whether your services run on fear and fatigue or calm courage and care. This program is designed to strengthen the way you think, feel, and speak as leaders so that your words reliably create learning, not defensiveness; accountability, not shame; and cultures where staff and patients are safer because people can tell the truth. We weave together four evidence-informed lenses: Emotional Culture & the Rider–Elephant metaphor – seeing and shaping the feelings that drive behaviour, not just the policies that describe it. Advocacy & Inquiry – making your concerns and reasoning transparent while staying genuinely curious about how things look and feel to others. Radical Candor – caring personally and challenging directly, so tough feedback becomes an act of respect, not aggression or avoidance. The Coaching Habit – using a small set of powerful questions to shrink the “advice monster” and grow the capability and ownership of those you lead. Supported with pre-workshop activities, deep in person work and digital coaching for the month following the program to support the transition of learned knowledge into everyday practice. Participants leave with shared principles, practical scripts and concrete commitments for listening deeply, speaking clearly and leading safely - for themselves, their leaders, and the communities they serve.
